Our Donors are integral to keeping the wheels in motion. With their commitment we are able to host events that help us promote our mission, in turn making others aware of our cause. The HLSR World Championship Barbecue Cook-Off is a yearly event in Houston, Texas preceding Rodeo Houston, a 21day rodeo where professional Cowboys and Cowgirls compete for winnings that will help them finance their rodeo participation throughout the year. It only makes since to support a cause that will benefit these athletes in the event they are injured. Because we have a Hell of a party, we have many donors that have supported us year after year. Cowboy Care Coalition Competition Cook Team is a HLSR World Championship BBQ Cookoff Team with roots of the team going back over three decades. Cowboy Care Coalition Competition Cook Team is a HLSR World Championship BBQ Cookoff Team with roots of the team going back over three decades. We utilize three combined spots totaling over 4,800 square feet of event area. Combining years of experience, top notch cooks, hardworking members and the best donors around, we gather for three days, once a year for the best party south of the Canadian border. Guests that are invited to our private party enjoy world class BBQ, open bar, and cutting-edge live music. The HLSR cook-off consist of over 200 teams competing for top honors in five different categories.
This year, we were proud to be awarded "Grand Champion in the Open Competition"!
In 2023 we placed 5th in the “Open” category and 10th in “Dutch Oven”. In 2019 we were awarded Runner up in the “BBQ Chicken” category. 2024 also marked a new milestone for us, in an effort to raise money and awareness to benefit professional cowboy athletes that have been injured in rodeos throughout the US.
