After several years of rodeo participation and volunteering for over three decades at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo we have created Cowboy Care Coalition, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that benefits injured rodeo participants.
Cowboy and Cowgirl rodeo participants are not only outstanding athletes, but they are also patriotic, God loving Americans that embrace a way of life that is rooted in western heritage. With a love for the lifestyle, despite the challenges, cowboys are deeply passionate about their way of life. They have a strong connection to the land and a partnership with the animals they work with. We think it's important to acknowledge and respect the dedication and hard work that these athletes put into their profession. While they may not enjoy the financial rewards or job security of some other professions, they are driven by a love for their work and a strong sense of tradition and identity. The physical demands and inherent risks make being a professional cowboy a challenging profession, especially in the unfortunate event of injury.
Cowboys have always played an important role in preserving western cultural heritage...What would the world be without cowboys?
